Medical & Pharmaceutical Salaries in Egypt 2026: From Residency to Consultant
The medical sector in Egypt has one of the widest salary gaps of any industry. A resident doctor in a government hospital might earn 4,000 EGP while a consultant with a private practice can earn 100,000 EGP or more monthly.
Doctor salaries start at 4,000 to 7,000 EGP for residents, 8,000 to 15,000 for specialists, and 15,000 to 40,000 for consultants. Private practice can reach 100,000 EGP or more. Nursing starts at 3,000 to 5,000 EGP which is among the lowest in healthcare despite the critical importance of the role. Gulf countries pay 3-5 times more.
